Global Recognition: The city has been named one of the Best Places to Go in 2026 by Condé Nast Traveler, cited for its blend of traditional authenticity and modern creativity.

World Cup Preparation: Infrastructure projects are currently underway as the city prepares to host matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup starting this June. Significant investments are being made in stadium upgrades at Estadio Akron and urban road improvements.

Nearby Excursions: Travelers frequently visit the town of Tequila for distillery tours or the artisanal village of Tlaquepaque for pottery and hand-blown glass.
